Sherry Mousavi is a business and media professional who lives, works and plays in the city of Hamilton. The McMaster Commerce graduate has been a professional writer for Torstar, a financial analyst at Hamilton Health Sciences and spearheaded the launch of a real estate brokerage. Sherry is very involved in the community as the co-founder and chair of Hamilton Media Guild, board member of Hamilton HIVE, member of YEP, committee member of Hamilton Media Advisory Council, correspondent on a new arts and entertainment show for Cable 14, as well as a volunteer for the Art Gallery of Hamilton and Empowerment Squared.
When she is not trying a new sport, writing about Hamilton, cooking, spearheading projects, eating at local restaurants or spending time with family, sherry looks for ways to connect her network with opportunities.
While she seeks her next opportunity, she is spending time aiding businesses and people expand and develop in the GHA.

McMaster University alumna Alyssa Lai works in public relations. Through volunteering, she found herself in the nonprofit world, a sector that has helped her thrive personally and professionally.
In her journey to build her career toolkit, Alyssa wrote for CBC Hamilton, co-founded young professional groups Hamilton Media Guild and Global Hamilton Connect, stage managed for an LGBTQ touring dance theatre show, and more.
A recipient of the 2014 YWCA Hamilton Women of Distinction (Public Affairs category) award and the 2015 McMaster Hamilton Community Impact Award, Alyssa is the Chair of Hamilton HIVE, the umbrella organization of young professional groups and leaders. Fresh out of McMaster’s Public Relations program, Brianne is eager to dive-in to the communications world. She is looking to get her feet wet in a variety of public relations realms so she can really find her niche. Brianne currently holds a special interest in event-planning and internal communications. When Brianne isn’t engaging on social media, writing content or helping to plan an event, she can be found curled up with her two kittens watching Netflix or brushing up on her pop culture trivia.
Carlyn is a 21-year old journalist from Hamilton, Ontario. She is a recent graduate of Mohawk College’s Journalism program and is currently a Public Relations intern for Hamilton Health Sciences. In her past she has worked as the Newsroom Assistant for Mohawk College’s journalism program, where among many tasks she produced, edited, and occasionally hosted a weekly newscast for Cable 14. In her spare time she enjoys being outdoors, learning how to play guitar, trying new food, and being active.
Cindy Leung is a Communications graduate of Brock University. Passionate about working in Public Relations, Cindy has obtained a post-grad certificate in PR and hopes to build a career in the non-profit sector.
Dawn Cattapan is an arts administrator, active yogi and the interim Director, Orchestra Operations & Tours for the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Passionate about the power of the arts to transform communities and bring people together, she’s held roles with the Sudbury Symphony Orchestra, City of Toronto, The National Ballet of Canada and Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Jessica Rose is a writer, editor, and social-media coordinator who lives and works in Hamilton’s downtown core. Michael is a graduate of McMaster University with a Master of Arts in Political Science and a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Relations Management.
Born and raised in Hamilton, Michael is eager to contribute to this amazing city. He has honed in on his passion for the Public Relations field through volunteering with local non-profit organizations that do work ranging from recycling and community gardens to land conservation and media. His professional experience in educational assistance and sales have provided him a firm foundation for the work required in communications and public relations.
Michael also combines his passion for P.R. with his love of film. Recognizing the importance of visual media,Michael is excited to bring this understanding to Hamilton HIVE as Vice-Chair and head of the Public Relations subcommittee in 2016.
Natalia is a media production and event designer with a love for all things fantastical. Since graduating from Sheridan’s Media Arts program, she has worked on personal, corporate and television productions, as well as music videos while starting her own design company. She is also a Board Member on the Community Centre for Media Arts in Hamilton.
